How to Identify Face & Skin Problems

Skin problems can be caused by many factors, both internal and external. Some of these factors include genetics, allergies, air pollution, weather conditions, harsh detergents drugs, and lack of adequate nutrition. In order to successfully treat skin problems is important to identify the problem correctly. Identify and address problems of the skin is not so difficult, provided you know what to look for.

1.
Step 1

Check the skin on the cheeks, forehead, scalp, neck, elbows, legs, knees, forearms, ankles, patches or hot, dry and itchy. This usually indicates a condition known as eczema. Eczema is usually caused by genetics, but symptoms may be aggravated by environmental factors such as heat or cold.
2.
Step 2

Check the scalp, elbows, knees and torso of dry, itchy, cracked and painful skin redness, elevated lesions that are covered by silvery white scales. All these are symptoms of skin disease called psoriasis. The cause of psoriasis is not clearly understood, however genetics seems to be a common factor. Stress, environment, infection and drugs can trigger a psoriasis flare up.
3.
Step 3

Look for signs of redness and swelling scalp, face, chest, ears and back accompanied by skin lesions that look like pimples. Rosacea, a chronic skin disease, usually associated with these symptoms. The cause of rosacea is unknown, as it has not been scientifically proven, but many believe that rosacea is a vascular disorder.
